One of the reasons cancer can be so difficult to treat is because it can develop without any symptoms. By the time the pet is exhibiting symptoms, the cancer has had an opportunity to grow and spread throughout the body.

Conventional treatment
Surgery first, whenever possible
Conventional treatment for cancer usually involves surgical removal of the tumor and follow up with chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
Whenever possible, surgical removal of the tumor is recommended as the first line of treatment.

It is still important to surgically remove any known tumors, but holistic support of the body instead of chemotherapy may be a preferred option to fight the cancer battle.
